Wednesday June 1st.....First Day of Winter

Well in Carterton the frost just lightly sprinkled itself into little crevices while the sun shone down graciously on us - it's a fabulous day here and only 2 more days until the big Wai Art Exhibition Opening on Friday night at 5.30pm. It has got some amazing art work - and the calibre and quality of the work is quite uplifting. If I had the budget I would be in l ike Flynn (as the Irish leprauchaun inside me says).....but just fabulous to wander around from Saturday onwards for the general public from 10am onwards (unless of course you want to attend the opening Friday night - only $10 pp )

New Cafe in Carterton

Frillys Gluten Free has moved to Carterton and Sean and Katie Barnes are running this with pizzazz and style and it has the taste of YUM.....From what I remember Sean (qualified chef) was diagnosed with celiac disease and suddenly had to begin eating an alternative diet....and of course found a lot of the GF foods were pretty erk (I know this from personal experience!). Sean makes great coffee and fabulous gluten free slices. Haven't tasted his cheesecake yet - but I intend to and very soon.

They have a full menu and they do GF Fish and Chips and given that I was doing some fairly wimpish pleading...Sean did disclose that as soon as he manages to get more than 3 hours sleep a night he will start a GF frozen meal menu!!! YAY

Call in and meet young Sean (well young according to MY standards anyway!! lol) and let him know what you want - he's pretty obliging (keep the requests to GF though!!)
